The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Europe and Central Asia released its 2023 Annual Report for the Slovak Transformation Fund (STF), funded by the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic. The annual report provides a detailed overview of the Fund’s activities and progress throughout the year and outlines the key developments within the BOOST Impact Acceleration Programme and the City Experiment Fund (CEF), two of the Fund’s main initiatives.
In 2023, BOOST continued to support women innovators that took part in our BOOST: Women Innovators programme by offering essential financial and technical assistance to help grow their impact solutions. A notable milestone was the launch of the BOOST Alumni Network, designed to provide post-acceleration support to impact ventures and non-profits and foster collaboration among cohorts.
The CEF continued its collaboration with five cities in Europe and Central Asia to design, implement, and dynamically manage their portfolios of urban interventions, while also exploring innovative financing options to support sustainable development. 17 options across the five cities were activated, addressing various urban challenges such as air pollution, urban vibrancy, and waste management
The report also reflects on the challenges encountered, including limited local expertise and political instability, and the Fund’s efforts to address these through adaptive management and capacity-building initiatives.
The 2023 Annual Report provides valuable insights into the lessons learned over the past year and presents key recommendations for the future. The STF remains committed to aligning its work with the UNDP Strategic Plan, focusing on green, inclusive, and digital transitions.
