Empowering communities to build resilient and sustainable systems
The Tadamon Accelerator is an acceleration programme designed to empower civil society organizations across Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries to develop, refine, and scale high-impact solutions. By applying proven business tools and innovative approaches, Tadamon fuels sustainable growth for initiatives addressing critical development challenges. The programme brings together changemakers, innovators, and partners to strengthen local ecosystems and scale practical solutions through targeted capacity-building, mentorship, resource mobilization, and peer networks.
The Tadamon Accelerator is developed under the NGO Empowerment for Poverty Reduction Program – Tadamon financed by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD), and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) AltFinLab, alongside other strategic partners.
How the Tadamon Accelerator works?
The Tadamon Accelerator collaborates with partners to launch joint open calls at national, regional, or global levels, identifying high-potential innovators committed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A selected cohort then participates in an intensive 8–14-week acceleration programme designed to incubate and scale impactful solutions.
The programme delivers a tailored curriculum with expert-led training and customized mentorship, covering modules such as SDG Impact Management, Impact Business Development, Innovative Financing, and Agile Project Management. Throughout the journey, participants receive hands-on support, access to networks, and opportunities for growth. The most promising innovations are awarded equity-free grants to accelerate their impact.
In 2022, the Tadamon Accelerator was specifically designed to respond to the urgent challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Implemented across 28 OIC member countries, the programme empowered civil society organizations (CSOs) to mitigate the pandemic’s impacts, foster social innovation, and drive meaningful progress in poverty eradication. As global challenges have intensified – ranging from climate change and conflict to economic instability – food security has emerged as a critical priority. In response, the Tadamon Accelerator launched a second cohort focused on food security in December 2024, supporting innovative solutions across 12 OIC member countries.
