Tadamon
Tadamon is a flagship initiative that empowers civil society organizations to uplift hard-to-reach communities in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states.
Making civil society organizations stronger
Formally known as the “NGOs Empowerment for Poverty Reduction Programme,” Tadamon is a flagship initiative that empowers civil society organizations (CSOs) to uplift hard-to-reach communities in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states. Tadamon supports organizations to design and deliver impactful projects that improve the lives of underserved communities. Through its support, CSOs implement projects that address critical needs, such as strengthening education and healthcare ecosystems, empowering women and youth, helping vulnerable groups and creating sustainable livelihoods.
Financed by the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), and implemented by UNDP AltFinLab alongside other strategic partners, Tadamon aims to reduce poverty across Muslim countries through development and humanitarian initiatives. The programme builds strong partnerships that reach marginalized communities and demonstrates the value of an integrated approach to improving socio-economic well-being.

Tadamon’s core activities focus on strengthening and amplifying the work of local CSOs through dialogue, capacity-building, and institutional development to enhance operational efficiency, improve project management, and support sustainable financing. Through four main pillars, it supports innovative CSO-led projects that reduce poverty and improve the lives of refugees, women, youth, and people with disabilities – focusing on skills development, income generation, community resilience, and youth job creation:
-
Tadamon Crowdfunding Academy is an interactive training programme that equips organizations with the skills and knowledge needed to develop and run successful crowdfunding campaigns.
-
Tadamon Accelerator is an acceleration programme that helps organizations further develop and scale high-impact solutions through business development support, mentorship, and practical tools.
-
Tadamon Grants is a programme that provides grant support to selected projects demonstrating impact, innovation, and scalability.
-
The Tadamon online platform is the largest repository of CSOs in the Muslim world – an easy-to-use database where users can explore organizations, campaigns, and crowdfunding initiatives, all verified through a joint process involving local governments, UNDP, IsDB, and ISFD. It also serves as a valuable research and analysis tool, helping identify institutional capacity gaps, areas of specialization, and broader trends across the civil society landscape.
