Advancing public sector innovation through blockchain

The Government Blockchain Academy is a UNDP AltFinLab and Exponential Science Foundation initiative for public-sector professionals. It provides a practical foundation for understanding blockchain and assessing where it may or may not be appropriate for public-sector challenges.

The programme begins with the fundamentals of blockchain and artificial intelligence, before exploring their relevance to public services. It is designed to support informed discussion across policy, legal, programme and technical teams.

Course details

  • Six lectures on blockchain and distributed ledger technology, tokenisation, crypto markets and decentralised finance, governance and regulation, the evolving internet, and artificial intelligence.

  • Five lectures on assessing blockchain use cases across governance and digital identity, digital payments and financial inclusion, supply chain management, and climate resilience.
